3 DAYS BASIC GAIT ANALYSIS COURSE

The European Bobath Tutors Association in collaboration with the ABBV offers a 3-day clinical gait analysis course. This course will be held prior to the EBTA Congress in Ghent, 12-13-14 September 2022.

The gait course teaches basic skills for analyzing gait, interpreting gait data and planning specific treatment according to the Bobath concept. Both theoretical concepts and case discussions will be covered in this course, with specific emphasis on the treatment implications of specific gait disorders in CP. The clinical cases will focus on ambulatory children with cerebral palsy.

Responsible for the course are Prof. Kaat Desloovere (head of the gait lab in UZ Leuven / KULeuven, department of movement science) and Prof. and Bobath tutor Marc Degelaen (Movement science VUB Brussels, responsible GA labo Inkendaal – CP UZ Brussel).

1 DAY ADVANCED GAIT ANALYSIS COURSE

The European Bobath Tutors Association in collaboration with the ABBV offers a 1-day advanced clinical gait analysis course. This course will be held prior to the EBTA Congress in Ghent, 14 September 2022.

The advanced gait course will look into specific gait analysis problems in different cases and their implications for treatment. Participants have a basic knowledge of gait analysis from a basic gait course or gait course knowledge from pediatric master studies.

The clinical cases will focus on ambulatory children with cerebral palsy.

Responsible for the course are Prof. Kaat Desloovere (head of the gait lab in UZ Leuven / KULeuven, department of movement science) and Prof. and Bobath tutor Marc Degelaen (Movement science VUB Brussels, responsible GA labo Inkendaal – CP UZ Brussel).

How to get there by car

From the center you can reach UZ Gent via the inner ring road and the traffic axes De Pintelaan and Zwijnaardsesteenweg.
Via the R4: You can easily reach the campus from both the east and the west via the R4.
Via the motorways E40 and E17: The E40 (Ostend – Brussels) is connected to the E17 (Antwerp – Kortrijk) through the interchange ‘Zwijnaarde’. The E17 has a separate exit number 9 ‘Universitair Hospital’ or ‘UZGent”
Parking is only possible in the central parking building, unless you have a valid permit to park in places for people with reduced mobility (parking spaces provided at the Rehabilitation Center K7, building opposite Revaki (B3) – parking tickets are NOT allowed to be delivered to students/ students from the training.

How to get there by public transport

The Sint-Pieters station is a 20 to 25 minute walk from the hospital UZ Gent
Tram 4 other station Gent-Sint-Pieters with UZ Gent and runs every 7.5 minutes on weekdays. The terminus is located in the heart of the campus, near the parking building. There are two platforms, a comfortable waiting area and ticket machines.
Tram 21, bus 5, bus 65 and bus 67 have stops near UZ Gent
From the suburbs and the city center, bus line 5 (Heuvelpoort, Tolpoort, Van Beverenplein, Zaarde Hekers) provides a direct connection to the hospital (stop main entrance UZ).

Senior tutor workshop

Course leaders: Josse De Cat, Christine Barber and Margaret Mayston.

Location: Campus UZGent – building B3 – Entrance 46 – Practicum 2.1 – 2.3 – 2.4 on the 2nd floor.

Payment

Registration fees must be paid during the registration process, a variety of payment options are available. All payments should be made in EUR.

After purchase you will be able to download your ticket in the order overview. A mail with a download link for you ticket will be send to your mail address as well.

Accreditation

In Belgium, the Congress will be accredited for participation by Pro-Q-kine.

It is not possible to apply for an SME / KMO subsidy for this congress

Registration deadlines

Registration deadline: before August 31. 2022.

Confirmation of registration policy

You will receive a confirmation email when registration and payment are successfully completed.

Please bear in mind that, in case you do not receive this email, either your registration or the payment did not work out.

Included in the registration fee

Access to the selected gait analysis course.

Registration cancellation and reimbursement policy

Cancellation should be made by sending a written notice to
info@ebta-congress-bobath-2022.org.

All reimbursements will be made after the conference.

Before July 15
2021 Registrations will be reimbursed at 100% minus the administrative costs.
From July 15 till August 15
Registrations will be refunded at 50%.
After August 15
No fees will be refunded after this date.

If the congress were to be cancelled because of restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we ensure a full refund.

Categories for accredition

For any category the organizer reserves the rights to evaluate the subscription request. If there is any doubt, the organiser can contact the potential participant to verify the professional status.
